Is Aadhaar Card Acceptable In Google AdSense Address Verification?

 

What is Google AdSense Address Verification?

A person having an AdSense account is asked to provide his/her billing address as a signup procedure. When the earnings of the person reach the verification threshold amount, he/she is asked to verify his/her billing address. This is a mandatory procedure in AdSense and is not skippable. 

During this procedure after providing the address, AdSense mail a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to the provided address. If the PIN fails to reach you, you have an option to have the PIN resent to you for three more chances, with a given interval of time between any two successive requests.

What if the PIN fails to reach even after 3 Resend Attempts?

If the PIN fails to reach you even after a maximum of 3 attempts (one is counted as the first request along with the other three Resend attempts), you get a chance to verify your billing address by uploading proof of identity in order to confirm the validity of the postal address set in your AdSense account. What type of Document can I use as a proof of my identity?

Currently Google AdSense is accepting the below type of documents:

• Government issued ID card: The image must display your payee name and mailing address as they appear in your AdSense account.
• Bank statement, telephone bill or rent receipt: If the postal address in your account is different from the address displayed on your ID card, or your ID does not provide information about your mailing address, you can also confirm your address by providing an image of a bank statement, telephone bill or rent receipt displaying your payee name and postal address as it appears in your AdSense account.

Is Aadhaar Card acceptable as a proof of my identity?

Previously, Google AdSense was not accepting Aadhaar card as a proof of identity. A screenshot of the old AdSense page is given below which clearly states that Aadhar Cards were not acceptable in the past.

But, the good news is that, now Google AdSense is accepting Aadhaar card as a proof of identity. You can attach the PDF file of scanned copy of your Aadhaar card on the contact form page.
